As Vice President of Claims, Cheri leads Northwestern Mutual’s group of claim professionals (for life, disability, long-term care and annuities) who are dedicated to delivering on the company's promise and assisting clients at some of the most critical points in their lives.
Cheri joined Northwestern Mutual in 2014 in the Law Department as an attorney on the Insurance Products and Operations Team. She led that team of outstanding lawyers and paralegals who provide support to the company’s risk products (life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care insurance, and annuities) and the trust company. That support covered a wide range of issues from product design and manufacture to payment of benefits – and pretty much everything in between.
Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual, Cheri was a successful litigator. She began her career with Clausen Miller PC in Chicago where she did insurance subrogation litigation. Just prior to Northwestern Mutual, she was a partner at Quarles & Brady in Milwaukee where she focused on product liability litigation. Cheri is a native of Campbellsport, WI and earned her undergraduate degree in criminal justice from Carroll College (now Carroll University) and attended law school at Valparaiso University School of Law.
